Druck, a Crane Company business and leaders in pressure measurement, has announced a unique technology collaboration with VIAVI Solutions, that leverages Druck pressure calibration technology to drive efficiency across aircraft maintenance.

The collaboration has developed a patented solution for 14 CFR 91. 411 testing in both civil and military aviation applications. By integrating Druck’s advanced ADTS 5XX series pitot-static technology with the VIAVI Solutions AVX-10K Flight Line Test Set, transponder reported data for 14 CFR 91.413 testing, including Mode C/S altitude and comparison, indicated airspeed, Mode S address and tail number, is automatically captured and added directly to the test report, delivering a fully streamlined and highly traceable workflow.

“Our collaboration with VIAVI Solutions reflects our commitment to develop and drive technology innovation that simplifies and accelerates avionics testing,” said Gordon Docherty

By adopting this solution, maintenance teams can consolidate task cards using the AVX-10K for simultaneous 14 CFR 91.411 and 91.413 certification testing to realise significant time savings through a more efficient, integrated workflow. This unique integration not only simplifies test procedures and enhances accuracy, but also dramatically reduces maintenance time, delivering substantial productivity gains for aviation maintenance operations.

“Our collaboration with VIAVI Solutions reflects our commitment to develop and drive technology innovation that simplifies and accelerates avionics testing,” said Gordon Docherty, President of Druck. “By combining our market-leading ADTS 500 series pitot static testers with the compact, high-performance AVX-10K, we’re delivering a unique, patented solution that responds to the aerospace sector’s drive for greater efficiency, accuracy and productivity.”

“The integration of the Druck ADTS 500 series testers with the VIAVI AVX-10K transponder test output fundamentally changes how maintenance teams approach 14 CFR 91.411 and 91.413 certification testing, replacing a traditionally fragmented, multi-step, and time-intensive process with a single, cohesive workflow,” said Ed Latimer, Director of Avionics Test at VIAVI Solutions. “This collaboration with Druck reflects a shared commitment to advancing avionics testing capabilities through purposeful, innovative partnership.”

In addition to the extended functionality, Druck has introduced a self-calibration capability using its PACE Tallis transfer standard calibrator system. This feature allows ADTS 5XXseries customers, particularly those with large fleets, to perform local pitot-static system calibrations without sending units offsite, minimizing downtime and reducing the need for spare equipment.

The enhancements to the ADTS 5XX series, including the integration with the VIAVI system, are already being trialled with customers with early feedback highlighting the ease of use and time-saving benefits. The ADTS 5XX series and its enhancements is designed for both civil and military aerospace applications and is available to customers worldwide.
